While I Breathe, I hope
Kayla was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. Most of her adult life was spent in addiction but after her release from prison in June of 2021, all of that changed. She was accepted into Oxford House Flannery, and immediately felt at home. She enjoyed the responsibility of service in her house, and got involved in chapter as chapter chair, then eventually in state, as state chair. She wanted to get involved in the expansion of Oxford House, so in November of 2022 she helped open Oxford House Hooper's Hope, moving in as a core member.
Kayla found a sense of purpose in Oxford House and knew that the first reentry position was meant for her. She takes great joy in helping others who on a similar journey of recovery. In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her supportive family and amazing friends.
